BIOGRAPHY
Ella Barclay (B.1981 Bendigo) is an artist concerned with the transfixing, impulsive and intuitive behaviours brought about by new technologies. In 2007 she was an active member of the international collective FutureAcademy StudioLab, with whom she conducted exhibitions and symposia in Edinburgh, Tokyo, Akiyoshidai and for the Documenta 12 Magazines project in Kassel. Since 2008 she has exhibited extensively at artist-run and project spaces and selected regional galleries in NSW, with some invitations to exhibit interstate and internationally. She has been a board member at runway magazine (2009-11). In 2011 she undertook an Asialink residency at Taipei Artist Village, Taiwan and was shortlisted for the Helen Lempriere Travelling Arts Scholarship, exhibiting at Artspace, Sydney.
